Decline Brochure

Decline is a three dimensional design tool that allows mining engineers to quickly and easily design a decline path. The tool will design a decline path in seconds as compared to the long tedius process that is required with Surpac's native methods.

The algorithm used to design the decline path is called point to point curve. It allows the user to design a decline centreline path starting from one point, at a given bearing, and ending at a second point, at a given bearing. The centreline path will be made up of two curves, and one or more straight sections. The user will fill the form as displayed:

In order to make the curve it may be nessesary to increase the specified curve radius, or extend the path forward from the start point or backward from the end point. There are a number of options available that allow you influence the curve produced. After specifying the parameters you simply need to select a start bearing and path start point followed by the path end point and end bearing point.

Four possible solultions are generated for you, unless you specified exacltly how the cureve was to be calculated. Simply choose the path that suits the environment and delete the other three.
